UNO Refits Win First Prize

UNO clients Sewell Group, Carsley Group and Shaw Petroleum have all won prizes at the 2008 Forecourt Trader Awards. UNO has undertaken refits at each of these clients in the past 12 months and we are delighted to announce their success at this event which represents the highest accolade in their industry.
The prizes were:
Best site with a licence to sell alcohol: Shaw Petroleum, Huddersfield
Best main route site for independent dealers: Mark Carsley, Cromwell Services, Newark
Best neighbourhood site for independent dealers: Patrick Sewell, Chanterlands Avenue, Hull
The Sewell Group were also winners in two specialist categories for Chanterlands Avenue Hull: Best Tobacco Merchandising & Best Hot Beverages Outlet.

UNO Group, the Stoke-on-Trent-based retail services company, has brought in Kevin Barclay as Managing Director of UNO Interiors, its interior fit-out project management division.
Kevin, who has been in the industry for nearly 30 years, comes from a commercial background. He started his career as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor with Clugston Construction, then gaining further experience at Balfour Beatty and Mowlem. He then worked for 12 years for Henry Boot Management where he was promoted from Senior Project QS to Managing Surveyor to Commercial Manager to General Manager of the interiors division. When Banner Holdings was formed, in 2002, from the management buy-out of Henry Boot, Kevin was appointed Divisional Director of the interiors division and finally Operations and Marketing Director for the whole company. Most recently, Kevin was Operations Director for PEL Interiors.
Kevin, who has an MBA in Construction Management and is passionate about quality of service and long-term Client relationships, will bring a wealth of interior fit-out project management experience and contacts to UNO Group.

| | | UNO wins 150 store roll out with Co-op - Wednesday 5 March 2008
UNO is delighted to announce that after several months of involvement in an extensive and demanding tender process, UNO has been awarded a new contract with The Co-operative Group.
The new contract consists of 150 stores over the next two years, at an average value of £200,000 per store. This bolsters UNO’s forward order book by £30million of turnover for 2008 & 2009.
The work differs from the United Co-op work that UNO has been doing for some years in that UNO will now act as the main, turnkey contractor, responsible for managing all trades and all procurement for jobs. Both UNO Retail Solutions and UNO Construction will be involved in the work.
UNO Group’s CEO, Dominic Perks, said: “it is immensely exciting to have been entrusted with such a big contract. Whilst we have worked for United Co-op for many years, it is still a huge achievement to have passed through such a rigorous tender process and be deemed competent to deliver such a large volume of work. I would like to congratulate all the members of the team involved in winning this contract, the biggest in UNO’s history!”

UNO Retail Solutions are delighted to announce that they are embarking on a truly international project in the South Atlantic.
It was February 2007 when one of UNO’s Key Account Managers, Paul Rosser, was asked by Stanley Services Managing Director to take the long 18 hour flight to Port Stanley to develop the company’s fuel forecourt site.
As a result of that trip and following the design input and practical recommendations of Paul, Stanley Services have contracted UNO to refit the forecourt shop. Two UNO shopfitters will be embarking on the trip to the Island in January 2008.
The stock will be shipped from Southampton in mid-December arriving in the Falklands four weeks later. The lucky shopfitters themselves will be flown out of RAF Brize Norton in January and will spend 10 days on the Island carrying out the refit and checking out the penguins.
